Fashion Assassins!

Last night Kate, Becc and I attended the 'Intensive Care Summer 06-07' Fashion Parade courtesy of adidas. What a night!

Thanks to Kate's being the finest rep adidas has ever had we got VIP tickets to attend this shindig. And wasn't it fun being VIP! As many of you know, Kate, Becc and I aren't the type you'd find at one of these but we went along in the interests of trying something different. We got free adidas lanyards (although I would have liked some free adidas shoes!) and then got to go upstairs to the VIP section where we were plyed with free alcohol all night! Mind you i'd already bought a drink downstairs and paid $8 for it!

The fashion range was for men, although the clothes were definitely for girly men! Ruffled lemon yellow shirts, shirts cut to show off men-pecs, see though jumpers, neckerchiefs...Neckerchiefs I hear you say - that's right, they looked like flight attendants for a distinctively gay airline! However the men were hot (and one had the greatest arse! - as Becc and I both noticed at the same time) The club was a cool place and we had a great time!

We stayed there until lights came up around midnight-1am and then I joined Becc in meeting up with Rob, Daniel and Lauren at Q and A at Barry's. I had been in there all of 2 seconds when some girl recognised me from Year 7. I had no idea who she was but have I changed that little?! It was a great end to the night barring the man I had never ever met before deciding to sit in my lap as his straight female friend was leaving and he needed a new one to keep an eye out for him! Needless to say he was odd and I didn't regret it when he left!

Hope you all had a great Thursday night as well!

Housewarming Part-ay

Well mine and Jarrod's housewarming has passed but is not yet forgotten. How could it be? I find a new M'n'M or BBQ Shape under my couch everyday, and my neighbour has still not yet approached me about her draconian requests to be quiet at 3.30am. For gods sake there was only about 8 of us left - how much noise could we make? Unless she kept hearing Nudge hurl on the front lawn perhaps....

My highlights:
1) Jordan letting me burn lots of his CD collection on to my computer - now I am saved of having to listen to the radio at work! And my students are big fans of me playing Faith No More and Gunners!
2) Scoring a shot of tequila (rather than the Southern Comfort shots Jarrod was distributing) and finding it didn't make me wan tot hurl! It's been a long time since i've touched tequila..an it was a pleasant experience :)
3) The pimp palace is a welcome addition to the house :)
4) Thao's head seering and shrieking at the thought of having to listen to one more reading from the PostSecret book
5) Tania's nachos
6) Constantly being judged on the photos on the kitchen wall - "Why is my sister here and not me? " "Don't I count...?" Arggh We are endeavouring to add many more photos! I will try an dput some up on this blog soon
7) and lots more general shenanigans!

It was cool a bunch of you could make it!

More pics from Tassie - enjoy!

More photos from Tassie!
Haha! This reservation sign made me laugh. Easily amused am I...

Jarrod, Jordan and Lani with the hugest burgers we have ever seen, courtesy of some 50s inspired diner in Launceston

On the way up to Devil's Gullet, Lani's car massively overheated, probably owing to the 14km of massively unsealed roads, where rocks bounced up at us everywhere. The boys amused themselved with a little bit of kick to kick, while other cars passed us, and on the whole didn't bother to stop and see if we were ok...

How cool is this house?! Do you think they are proud of living at Number 69 or what??!!

Tasmania

As promised, here are some of the photos from Tasmania. Kateo, Becc, Jordo, Lani, Jarrod and I had a rockin time south of the border!

Jarrod and I in Swansea, posing for a happy snap, before Dom turned up....

Look at the rockface sidewards....can you see Megatron? This was snapped at Remarkable Cave, which certainly lived up to its name.

Jarrod and Jordan at Liffey Falls. This pic makes me think of 2 friends enjoying an idyllic holiday..before some huge bug man will escape from the water to eat them alive...

The boys enjoyed the tasty delights of the 7 pot sampler at a bar called Knotswood. At this point in time I would like to remind people who enjoyed the fine ales on tap that I in fact was the one who found this bargain....

My Blair Witch moment among the Japanese Maples at Cataract Gorge. In truth, I think I mostly like it coz my hair looks HOT in this pic! hehe

Kate contemplating the mysteries of life after doing a Harry Potter and finding her way to the centre of the maze. Luckily she didn't watch Cedric get sucked in...oh well you know the story... I believe the maze theory is "stick to the left wall, stick to the left wall...?" I

Kate attempting to lift off from the rock at Liffey Falls.
